We're Bouncing Back !
Despite restrictions, there are many Lions activities that can still happen safely.
- Members enjoy a monthly guest speaker at our ‘Lions After Dinner Virtual Socials’, expanding the tech abilities of many members!
- Christmas Cakes are still available at our regular outlets.
(Our on-line order and delivery service has now closed off). - Moorabbin Lions have provided ‘care packs’ of toiletries and items for the Christmas Hampers distributed by Bayciss (Bayside Community Information & Support Service) for people in need.
- We have partnered with Friends of Karkarook Park to establish a bird hide and outdoor classroom at Karkarook Park. Currently in the planning stage.
- A ‘Little Lions Library’ has been established on a member’s front fence, providing a free ‘take a book - leave a book’ service (proving very popular)
- Our Lions Den Book Shop (currently closed) has been renovated and thoroughly organized ready to be opened (as soon as we can).We have been able to take books to sell at the Cheltenham Market and raised some funds there.
- We continue to encourage recycling by collecting ‘ring pulls’ (aluminium only) and spectacles, and of course our very popular collectable – wine bottle corks! (Stockpiling all these at home).
